An editorial, newspaper-inspired website for an award-winning BBC journalist and voice artist.

Niamh Hughes is an award-winning BBC journalist, documentary filmmaker, and voice artist with over a decade of experience. She came to NexaDesign needing a website that reflected the quality and credibility of her work — something that felt as considered and professional as the journalism she produces.
Personal brand websites for journalists and media professionals often fall into one of two traps: they're either too corporate and cold, or too informal and generic. Niamh needed something that felt genuinely editorial — authoritative, warm, and visually distinctive.
We drew inspiration from the world Niamh works in — the editorial design language of quality newspapers and magazines — and built a website that feels like it belongs in that world.
Key features and highlights of this project
The entire visual language of the site is drawn from quality print journalism — serif typography, structured grid layouts, editorial spacing, and a restrained colour palette that lets the content breathe.
A dedicated section highlights Niamh's BBC News Awards and 30 to Watch recognition — presented with the weight and credibility these accolades deserve, without feeling boastful.
Showcase cards for key projects — Hidden Girls (BBC Three documentary), 100 Women: In Conversation, and the Access All podcast — give visitors a clear sense of the breadth and quality of Niamh's work.
The site opens with a custom loading screen featuring an animated name reveal — a small but memorable touch that sets the tone for the experience before the main content loads.
